WHAT IS A DOUGH BOWL?
It's a great question that we hear a lot! So what is a dough bowl and why is it called that?
In the late 1800's, early 1900's women traditionally mixed ingredients to make bread in wooden bowls and then used the vessels as a surface for kneading the dough. The bowl provided a snug, warm environment that was excellent for the rising dough.
Today dough bowls are still hand-carved and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Take a look through our website to see how many different styles we have.
